The Arch Linux-based Manjaro operating system 15.12 (Capella) has been released and is now available for download.

Manjaro is no longer a new operating system, and its developers have gathered a lot of experience in the past couple of years. This is one of the few Arch Linux-based operating systems that aim to be as users-friendly as possible and to give them a chance to use something unique.

The Manjaro devs have been very careful to customize their OS, which means that it's recognizable. Users don't just get another vanilla desktop running on Arch Linux. The custom look and feel of the Manjaro is just one of the reasons why more and more people prefer it.

Manjaro 15.12 is now ready for download

The team seems to have found a proper cadence for new releases, and they are now moving fast. They are probably working on the next version already, and we'll start seeing updates for 15.12 really soon.

"After almost three months of development, we can present to you now Capella, our latest instance of Manjaro Linux. This release comes with XFCE 4.12, KDE Plasma 5.5, 4.1.0 LTS kernel and all the usual Manjaro and upstream updates. We worked mostly on our tools and the graphical installers," developers wrote in the announcement.

According to the changelog, KDE Apps have been updated to version 15.12, VirtualBox 5.0.12 is implemented, Mesa 11.0.8 is ready by default, along with the latest Wine 1.8. Interestingly enough, the latest Linux kernel 4.4 RC6 is also available in the repos, for anyone who wants to try it.

The developers are also offering the Deepin desktop 2015 in the repositories, the latest fixes for Plasma 5 have been integrated, along with all the new changes from the Arch Linux project.

You can download Manjaro 15.12 from Softpedia and give it a spin. It works great in virtual environments if you don't want to install it.
