The seventh update has been released for this OS

The Manjaro developers are on a roll, and they've just released yet another update for Manjaro 0.8.13, bringing numerous Linux kernel updates and quite a few other packages.

The Manjaro 0.8.13 cycle might be coming to an end quite soon if developers keep this up. Previous cycles had about a dozen update packs, and we're now already at the seventh update for the 0.8.13 branch. It might not seem a lot, but the makers of this distro usually push more than just regular upgrades with this pack. It happened more than once to get important new features and even a new desktop environment, which is not something usually done with other distros, with very few exceptions.

Manjaro is an operating system based on Arch Linux, but it's not following the same kind of release policy. Arch Linux is a rolling-release distro, which means that there are no intermediary versions, but Manjaro is very different. Its developers chose to have fixed versions that are upgraded at a later time with big update packs. There is no definite winner on who's doing it right, but it looks like both systems work just as fine.

Seventh Manjaro update is here

This latest update for Manjaro is one of the smallest releases until now, but it does bring quite a few kernel upgrades, which are almost always a good idea.

"We are happy to announce our seventh update for Manjaro 0.8.13. With this we updated nvidia to 352.30, linux312 to 3.12.45, linux313 to 3.13.11.24, mesa to 10.6.3, wine to 1.7.48, systemd to v223, os-prober to v1.66, LibreOffice to 4.4.5, some Gnome packages and libraries for python. Additionally we fixed some issues within manjaro-tools and refreshed our mirrorlist. As regular, this update includes also regular Archlinux upstream fixes (Sun Aug 2 08:47:15 CEST 2015)," wrote the Manjaro developers.

You can download Manjaro 0.8.13 right now from Softpedia and give it a go. If you already have Manajaro installed, you don't have to do anything extra, just upgrade the system.
