The second update pack for Manjaro 0.8.13 has been made available, and it packs a lot of new packages, including Budgie 8.2 and a new Linux kernel.

The update packs for Manjaro are usually quite consistent, and the same can be said about the current release. In fact, it's one of the biggest we've seen in long time and users will have a ton of cool stuff to look out for, and we're not talking about the Linux kernel update. In fact, Manjaro joins an ever-increasing family of distros that have adopted the 4.x LTS kernel.

To be fair, this particular kernel won't be provided by default, but it will be available in the repositories. As you well know, Manjaro is based on Arch Linux, so it's not all that surprising that the distribution comes with support for multiple kernels. This is a feature that you won't find in many Linux operating systems.

What's new in the latest update for Manjaro 0.8.13

"This time we updated again almost all kernels we support. Finally, we have Linux 4.1.0 LTS in the pack. With Budgie 8.2 we offer you another way to use your computer with a nice, lightweight GTK3 desktop similar to Gnome. We pulled some needed patches into Octopi 0.7.0, which is mostly used by our KDE editions. We also went nuts to fix issues in our Steam client. Cinnamon, Xfce and MATE, received regular updates. On the python side most of the plugins got refreshes," wrote the developers.

The supported Linux kernels available right now are: Linux310 3.10.81, Linux312 3.12.44, Linux313 3.13.11.22, Linux314 3.14.45, Linux316 3.16.7.13, Linux318 3.18.15, Linux319 3.19.8.2, Linux40 4.0.6, and Linux41 4.1.0.

As you might expect, some Arch Linux upstream fixes have been included as well. You can download Manjaro 0.8.13 right now from Softpedia.
