Department store finally listens to its customers

Back in 2012, several online petitions struggled to show the bosses at Macy’s Department Store that Donald Trump, with his outrageous ideas and apparent lack of filter in public speaking, he was not representative of “the magic of Macy’s,” so they should cut all ties with him. Macy’s wouldn’t listen and continued to sell Trump’s clothing and accessories.

After announcing he was running for President in the 2016 US elections and commenting that most Mexican immigrants were rapists and drug dealers, which is why he had come up with a plan to keep the out, Macy’s has finally understood he’s not the guy they want to be associated with.

Macy’s becomes the latest company to dump Trump

In a statement released to the media, Macy’s Department Store says that they were “disappointed and distressed” by Trump’s comments on Mexican immigrants and his plans of keeping them out of the United States (by having Mexico build a wall at the border, no less).

They also say that his ideas are not Macy’s, because they are all for an equalitarian and just society, where discrimination on gender, race or orientation has no place.

“We do not believe the disparaging characterizations portray an accurate picture of the many Mexicans, Mexican Americans and Latinos who have made so many valuable contributions to the success of our nation,” they say. “In light of statements made by Donald Trump, which are inconsistent with Macy’s values, we have decided to discontinue our business relationship with Mr. Trump and will phase-out the Trump menswear collection, which has been sold at Macy’s since 2004.”

Donald Trump responds: Dump me? No, dump you!

In doing so, Macy’s became another one of Trump’s many business partners to drop him like a hot potato. NBC Universal and Univision have also done it, for the same reason: his comments on the immigrants from Mexico were too offensive to ignore.

However, as you can see in the Instagram post below, Trump says that he was actually the one to do the dumping because he never liked the idea that the products he sold were made in China.

The most ironical part is that many of the items sold were actually made in Mexico, as the Tweet below shows. So, while most Mexicans are no-gooders who come to do no good in America, selling drugs, raping and thieving, apparently some are good enough to work on his clothing line.
