Introduces two new utilities and lots of improvements

TrueOS and Lumina Desktop developer Tim Moore announced the release and immediate availability of Lumina Desktop 1.3.0, a significant update of the open-source desktop environment that's used by default in TrueOS.

The biggest change of the Lumina Desktop 1.3 release appears to be the replacement of KDE Project's Oxygen icon theme with its own Material Design icon themes, available in light and dark variants and enabled by default for all new installations, as well as if you're upgrading from a previous Lumina Desktop build.

"The Lumina desktop now distributes it’s own “material-design [light/dark]” icon themes and uses them as the default icon sets," reads the release announcement. "Of course, other icon themes (including the “oxygen” theme) may still be installed and used on-demand as well."

Of course, Lumina Desktop also lets users install the icon themes of their choise. Besides this, the new version ships with an in-house built lumina-mediaplayer utility that dubbs as an app for streaming online radio content, supporting only Pandora at the moment, as well as to play local media files.

Insight file manager receives performance and visual improvements

Among other interesting changes implemented in the Lumina Desktop 1.3 release, we can mention that the Insight file manager received some performance and visual improvements, specifically a new tree view for directories, and there's a new lumina-xdg-entry utility that promises to help users create desktop app shortcuts.

You should check out the full changelog attached below if you're curious to know what exactly was changed or fixed in Lumina Desktop 1.3, whose source tarball you can download right now from the project's official website. Lumina Desktop 1.3 should also be available for installation from the main repos of various distros in the coming days.
