New concept envisions the look of Lumia 850

Lumia 850 appears to be one of the hottest subjects these days in the Windows 10 Mobile ecosystem, even though there are signs that Microsoft might never build this device.

But based on all the existing rumors, Phone Designer, which has already created several good-looking renders of upcoming phones, has come up with a new concept envisioning the Lumia 850.

As you can see in the photos below, the concept uses the gold Microsoft logo that showed up in the latest photo leaks allegedly depicting the Lumia 850, but also all the other rumored elements, such as the single flash and the front infrared sensor that could be used for Windows Hello.

Too iPhone-ish

The only problem with this concept is that it looks way too much like an iPhone 4, and it's pretty clear that neither Microsoft nor Lumia fans are willing to go in this direction for a device running Windows 10 Mobile.

The truth is, the device surely looks good, but the resemblance to an iPhone model is pretty hard to accept for hardcore Lumia fans.

For the moment, Microsoft has said absolutely nothing about the Lumia 850, and rumors on this are still mixed. While some claim that the Lumia 850 has no chance to see daylight, others believe this is part of the company's new smartphone strategy that's focused on three phone categories, namely low-end, mid-range, and high-end.

The Lumia 850 could arrive as a successor to the Lumia 830 and be part of the mid-range product portfolio. The launch could take place in early 2016, but keep in mind that some say that this project is doomed, so it's hard to tell if Microsoft still plans to release it.

In the meantime, this concept is the best thing we get on the Lumia 850, and with a little luck, we could see the device going live sometime next year.
