Today, March 24, 2016, the developers of the LXLE distribution of GNU/Linux have been proud to announce the release and immediate availability for download of the final LXLE 14.04.4 operating system.

Dubbed Posh Paradigm, LXLE 14.04.4 appears to be based on the long-term supported Lubuntu 14.04.4 LTS (Trusty Tahr) OS and comes with the latest SeaMonkey 2.40 Internet suite that includes web browser, email, and chat components. SeaMonkey is an important part of the user experience offered by the LXLE distro.

As we reported back when the Release Candidate (RC) build of LXLE 14.04.4 was announced, the distribution received a fresh coat of paint on its user interface. This consists of the smoothing of all the rough edges, new artwork, and a new layout that appears to be easy to use for anyone, based on the LXDE desktop environment.

"The goal was really just to get as many options and features showcased and or utilized while keeping the resources low and without the overall look being too gaudy. Veered away from using foreign system libraries and instead focused on customizing and maximizing any and all internal GUI resources" the devs have explained.

All software packages have been updated

We really can't explain in words how the new desktop layout of the LXLE 14.04.4 operating system is better for users, so you'll have to see for yourself by downloading one of the Live ISO images (available for 64-bit and 32-bit systems) right now via our website or from the project's website.

Below, we've attached a screenshot gallery of the new LXLE 14.04.4 "Posh Paradigm" for your viewing pleasure or just in case you don't want to download the distribution at the moment. Also, please read the release notes for details information about the changes implemented in LXLE 14.04.4.
