Linux Mint 17.3 "Rosa" KDE Beta features the same internal changes as the Xfce build, such as great improvements to the Update Manager, Software Sources and Driver Manager tools, better HiDPI support for the MDM login manager, as well as artwork enhancements with the addition of new wallpapers.

Users can install Linux kernel 4.2
Among other interesting things implemented in the Beta build of the Linux Mint 17.3 "Rosa" KDE edition, we can mention the ability to install the Linux 4.2 kernel, which is available in the default software repositories and improves hardware support, a redesigned welcome screen, and the KDE 4.14 desktop.
Furthermore, the LibreOffice office suite was updated to version 5, the Inxi utility now supports multiple video cards, hibernation support works as expected, and memory swap is no longer encrypted by default when encrypting your Home directory.
Just like the Xfce flavor, the Linux Mint 17.3 "Rosa" KDE edition is now available for download from our website, where you can download the 64-bit and 32-bit Live ISO images. Again, please try to keep in mind that this is a pre-release version, not suitable for deployment in production environments.
Based on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr), Linux Mint 17.3 "Rosa" KDE will be an LTS (Long-Term Support) release that should receive software updates and security patches for four years, until 2019. It is currently powered by Linux kernel 3.19.
