Jerry Bezencon, the creator of the Ubuntu-based Linux Lite operating system for personal computers, kindly informs Softpedia today about an updated version of the in-house built Lite Software app.

Now that Linux Lite 3.2 has been released, and many users are already enjoying the lightweight distribution on their PCs, the developer is hard at work to improve various parts of the operating system. Lite Software is the graphical package manager in Linux Lite, used for installing, updating or removing software packages.

"Lite Software has been updated. New features include Internet connection check, better descriptions, improved Install Updates feature," said Jerry Bezencon in an email sent to Softpedia. "A huge thank you to Ralphy for contributing some excellent code recently in both of these applications."

Lite Tweaks also received various improvements

Besides adding Internet connection checks for Lite Software and Install Updates, along with clearer descriptions for included apps, Jerry Bezencon also released a new version of the Lite Tweaks utility, another in-house built tool that only Linux Lite users can enjoy. Check the GitHub changelog for more details here and here.

Lite Tweaks is a collection of tools to tweak your Linux Lite system, and the latest build is here to improve the package system repair, as well as to implement a check for administrative privileges when doing various system-wide tasks. The new Lite Software and Lite Tweaks versions are now live.

If you're using the latest Linux Lite 3.2 release on your personal computer, we strongly recommend that you update your installation as soon as possible to receive the new Lite Software and Lite Tweaks builds. On the other hand, if you're new to Linux Lite, you can download the Linux Lite 3.2 Live ISO image right now from our website.
