Greg Kroah-Hartman announced today, April 12, 2017, the release and immediate availability of three new kernel updates, namely Linux 4.10.10, 4.9.22 LTS, and 4.4.61 LTS.

Coming only four days after their previous maintenance updates, the Linux 4.10.10, Linux 4.9.22 LTS, and Linux 4.4.61 LTS kernels are here with a set of new improvements for users of Linux-based operating systems. Despite the short development time, it looks like Linux kernel 4.10.10 changes a total of 99 files, with 1208 insertions and 604 deletions, and Linux kernel 4.9.22 LTS changes 134 files, with 1944 insertions and 784 deletions.

"I'm announcing the release of the 4.10.10 [4.9.22 and 4.4.61] kernel. All users of the 4.10 [4.9 and 4.4] kernel series must upgrade. The updated 4.10.y [4.9.y and 4.4.y] git tree can be found at: git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git linux-4.10.y, git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git linux-4.9.y, and git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git linux-4.4.y," said Greg Kroah-Hartman.

More ARM, ARM64, MIPS and PowerPC changes, updated drivers

Linux kernel 4.4.61 LTS is again a small patch changing only 28 files, with 344 insertions and 318 deletions. It only adds a few improvements to the MetaG, MIPS, Nios II, PowerPC, and s390 architectures, CIFS and sysfs filesystems, as well as updated GPU (vmwgfx) and iiO drivers. On the other hand, both Linux 4.10.10 and 4.9.22 LTS add many MIPS, ARM64, ARM, PPC, s390, x86, and Nios II changes.

They also bring lots of updated drivers for GPU (Intel i915, sun4i, adreno, vmwgfx), iiO, HID, MD, PCI, MMC, USB, TTY, watchdog, SCSI, ACPI, ATA, and CLK devices. You can download Linux kernel 4.10.10, as well as Linux 4.9.22 LTS and Linux 4.4.61 LTS kernels right now from kernel.org or via our website, and if you're using a GNU/Linux distribution powered by any of these kernel branches, we recommend that you update as soon as possible.
