14 DAY TRIAL // Today, March 17, 2016, Linux kernel developer Sasha Levin has announced the release and immediate availability of the twentieth maintenance release of the long-term supported Linux 4.1 kernel.
Just a few days ago, we reported news on new Linux kernel maintenance releases, including Linux kernel 4.4.6 LTS, Linux kernel 3.14.65 LTS, and Linux kernel 3.10.101 LTS, and today we would like to inform our dedicated Linux readers about the availability of Linux kernel 4.1.20 LTS.
Looking at the appended shortlog, which includes the diff from the previous maintenance build, Linux kernel 4.1.19 LTS, announced last week on March 8, 2016, the Linux kernel 4.1.20 LTS changes a total of 83 files, with 1,286 insertions and 449 deletions, so it's a fairly normal point release.

What's new in Linux kernel 4.1.20 LTS
Release highlights of Linux kernel 4.1.20 LTS include multiple improvements to the JFFS2 log-structured file system, along with fixes for the High-Performance File System (HPFS) and Network File System (NFS). There are also updated sound and networking stacks, and better support for the ARM, ARM64, x86, MIPS, PA-RISC, and s390 architectures.
As usual, numerous drivers have been updated, and the Linux 4.1.20 LTS kernel release adds improvements to things like ATA, hwmon, GPU (mostly Radeon), MD, MTD, PCI, VFIO, iSCSI, USB, and Xen.
