All users of the Linux 3.10 LTS branch must upgrade

Immediately after informing the Linux community about the end of life for the Linux 4.3 kernel series, renowned kernel maintainer Greg Kroah-Hartman announced the release of the ninety-seventh maintenance build of the long-term supported Linux 3.10 kernel series.

According to the appended shortlog, Linux kernel 3.10.97 LTS appears to be a small point release that includes mostly updated drivers, in particular for things like USB, SPI, Video4Linux (V4L2), ATA, HID, MD, MTD, Wireless, TTY, and remoteproc. Additionally, it adds a few improvements to the PA-RISC and SuperH (SH) hardware architectures.

Moreover, the update contains multiple sound enhancements, as well as various improvements to the EXT4, FS-Cache, JBD2, sysv, and OCFS2 file systems, along with a few crypto and core kernel fixes. In numbers, the long-term supported Linux kernel 3.10.97 release changes a total of 57 files, with 652 insertions and 301 deletions.

All users of a GNU/Linux operating system powered by kernel packages from the Linux 3.10 LTS (Long Term Support) series to upgrade as soon as possible to the Linux 3.10.97 release, either by installing the update from the main software repositories of the respective distro or by downloading and compiling the sources from the kernel.org website.
