After informing us of the release of Linux kernel 4.3.2, Linux kernel 4.2.7, Linux kernel 4.1.14 LTS, and Linux kernel 3.14.58 LTS, Greg Kroah-Hartman has also announced the release of the ninety-fourth maintenance release of Linux 3.10 LTS kernel.

Looking at the diff from Linux kernel 3.10.93 LTS, the new maintenance release in the long-term supported Linux 3.10 kernel series brings several improvements to the ARM, ARM64 (AArch64) and x86 hardware architectures. It also adds a few enhancements to some USB sound drivers, and updates the networking stack with IPv4, IrDA, Bluetooth, mac80211, and Reliable Datagram Sockets (RDS) improvements.

"I'm announcing the release of the 3.10.94 kernel. All users of the 3.10 kernel series must upgrade," says Greg Kroah-Hartman. "The updated 3.10.y git tree can be found at: git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git linux-3.10.y and can be browsed at the normal kernel.org git web browser: http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git;a=summary."

Networking and USB drivers have received updates

In addition to the changes mentioned above, Linux kernel 3.10.94 LTS updates multiple drivers, especially for things like USB and networking (mostly Ethernet changes, but also a few PPP and Wireless improvements). In numbers, the ninety-fourth maintenance release of Linux 3.10 LTS kernel changes 32 files, with 176 insertions and 47 deletions. More details can be found in the appended shortlog of the release announcement published on the Linux kernel mailing list.

As usual, all users of GNU/Linux operating systems powered by Linux 3.10 kernel packages are urged to update to the 3.10.94 release as soon as possible, or more precisely as soon as the new update arrives in the default software repositories of their distributions. Advanced users and Linux OS vendors can download the Linux kernel 3.10.94 LTS sources right now from Softpedia or via the kernel.org website and start compiling it by hand.
