The World Without Linux series comes to an end

On December 18, The Linux Foundation announced the availability of the final episode in the World Without Linux animated series with which the non-profit organization attempted to promote Linux around the globe.

The World Without Linux animated series was created by Disney's Amelia Lorenz, and all episodes are now available on Linux Foundation's YouTube channel. The sixth episode is called "Free Burger," and tries to show us a world without Linux where Mr. Linus Torvalds, the creator of Linux, would distribute free burgers to the world instead of free software, which seems a little bit too harsh if you ask us.

“Linux is the most well-known example of how open source and collaborative development can impact the world,” said Jennifer Cloer, vice president of communications, The Linux Foundation. “We hope the ‘World Without Linux’ video series helps extend the story of Linux to more people around the world and highlights how shared technology investments can result in providing the base infrastructure for conducting business and living our lives.”

A world without Linux would mean a world without exploration

It seems that we missed the fifth episode of the World Without Linux animated series last week, so we decided to post it below for those of you who did not have the chance to watch it. The episode is called "Space Exploration," and as you might have already guessed, it tries to show us a world without Linux, a world where space exploration would be much more difficult than it is right now with all the reliable, Linux-powered equipment.

Also, if you missed the previous episodes, we're giving you a chance to watch them all right now. They are, in the order of appearance, A World Without Linux Is a World Without the Internet, A World Without Linux Would Mean a World Without Direction, A World Without Linux Would Mean a World Without Social Connections, and A World Without Linux Would Mean a World Without Our Favorite Movies. Have fun!
