The development team behind the linuX-gamers project proudly announced earlier today that version 0.9.5 of their Linux-based Live DVD was now available for download. Being packed with a lot of games of various types, such as RPG, FPS, RTS, TBS, arcade or puzzle, linuX-gamers 0.9.5 is a 'boot-and-play' Linux distribution. This means the linuX-gamers allows users to play the titles directly from the Live DVD without having to install anything at all on their computers!

Just like its previous versions, the new linuX-gamers 0.9.5 was showcased at the LinuxTag open source event that takes place these days, from 24 until 27 of June on the Fairground in Berlin, Germany. The good news introduced with the announcement for linuX-gamers 0.9.5 is that there are now three other versions of the distribution:

· A Live CD Edition called "Lite ISO," which has around 700 MB and contains a small collection of games. This version is designed for children and low-end computers;
· A Live USB Edition called "Lite USB," which has around 1 GB and contains the same selection of games as the Live CD edition. This version is also designed for children and low-end computers! Instructions on how to write the USB image to a stick can be found here;
· A Live USB DVD Edition called "Big USB," which has around 5 GB of games, for all ages! Just like the Live DVD, this USB edition is designed for serious gamers and high-end computers. It can be installed just like the Live USB Edition above.

The linuX-gamers Live DVD requires a recent computer with at least 1 GB of RAM and an ATI or Nvidia video card with 3D acceleration. Your processor must be compatible with the x86 architecture. Both CD/DVD and USB edition can save the video settings on an USB flash drive.

The following is a list with all the games included in the main edition of linuX-gamers 0.9.5:

· Armagetron Advanced;
· AstroMenace;
· Blobby Volley;
· Chromium B.S.U.;
