14 DAY TRIAL // UK-based video games publisher Feral Interactive announced today that it would port the standalone adventure story Life is Strange: Before the Storm to the Linux and macOS platforms this spring.
Feral Interactive already brought Linux gamers the episodic graphic adventure video game Life Is Strange developed by Dontnod Entertainment and published by Square Enix, and they now plan to bring the new, three-part standalone story Life is Strange: Before the Storm, which is developed by Deck Nine.
The story in Life is Strange: Before the Storm is set three years before the events in Life Is Strange, and players will take the role of Chloe Price this time, a 16-year-old rebel student who forms a strange friendship with model student Rachel Amber. Both will try to face each other’s demons and deal with them.
Launched in late 2017 for Microsoft's Windows operating system, as well as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One gaming consoles, Life is Strange: Before the Storm has a Deluxe Edition that contains the three episodes and a bonus one called "Farewell." Feral Interactive says that it will port the Deluxe Edition to Linux and macOS.
"Before the Storm is a standalone adventure story set before Life Is Strange, the first game in the BAFTA award-winning series," reads Feral Interactive's announcement. "Life is Strange: Before the Storm - Deluxe Edition for macOS and Linux will include all three episodes along with the bonus episode, “Farewell”."
The system requirements are yet to be announced
Feral Interactive is yet to announce the system requirements for both Linux and macOS platforms, but they shouldn't differ much from those of their Windows counterparts. The question on Linux systems is if both AMD Radeon and Nvidia graphics cards will be supported or not.
