The Document Foundation announced today the general availability of the third maintenance update to the LibreOffice 5.4 open-source office suite for all supported platforms.

LibreOffice 5.4.3 comes about five weeks after the 5.4.2 maintenance update and it's a minor point release that attempts to fix even more bugs and regressions that have been discovered in the previous version.

According to the changelogs for the RC1 and RC2 development milestone, a total of 52 issues were addressed in the LibreOffice 5.4.3 release across various of the components of the office suite. Check out each changelog if you're curious to know what exactly was fixed.

"LibreOffice 5.4.3 continues to represent the bleeding edge in term of features, and as such is targeted at technology enthusiasts and early adopters," said Italo Vignoli, Co Founder, Marketing & PR at The Document Foundation, in today's announcement.

LibreOffice 5.4.4 coming mid-December 2017

LibreOffice 5.4 is the latest stable release of the open-source and cross-platform office suite, supported with maintenance updates until June 11, 2018. The next point release, LibreOffice 5.4.4, is expected to hit the streets in mid-December 2017.

After that, there will be only two maintenance updates left, LibreOffice 5.4.5 and 5.4.6, expected at the end of February and in early May respectively. LibreOffice 5.4 users are urged to update to LibreOffice 5.4.3 as soon as possible.

You can download LibreOffice 5.4.3 for GNU/Linux, macOS, and Microsoft Windows right now from our website. Meanwhile, The Document Foundation continues to work on the next major release of the office suite, LibreOffice 6.0, which will be released at the end of January 2018.

In related news, The Document Foundation announced last week the last maintenance update for the LibreOffice 5.3 series, which will reach end of life later this month, on November 26. Therefore, we recommend upgrading to LibreOffice 5.4 as soon as possible.
