14 DAY TRIAL // LG announced yesterday that it was working on a brand new smartphone, although that wasn't surprising since the device had appeared at the FCC just a few days ago. Nevertheless, the company informed us that the smartphone would be named LG V20 and would arrive in September.
Perhaps the most interesting piece of information in LG's press release regards the fact that the LG V20 will be the first non-Nexus smartphone to come with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
Considering that the LG G5 didn't do so well in terms of sales, the company might actually make the V20 its new flagship. LG made sure that the device was worthy of such a title, as recently leaked specs reveal.
LG V20 might come with a 5.5-inch full HD display, which makes it inferior to the 5.7-inch QHD screen on its predecessor, the LG V10. Sedaily reports that LG V20 will come with a 64-bit quad-core SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor coupled with Adreno 530 graphics processing unit.
LG V20 might pack a powerful 20MP rear camera
The smartphone might come in two variants, one with 3GB of RAM while the other will have 1GB of RAM more. Two versions with different internal storage options, one with 32GB and the other with 64GB, will be provided. Rear camera capacity on the smartphone is said to reach 20MP while an 8MP shooter will be available on the front. Battery capacity could reach 4,000mAh, and the device should come with USB Type-C.
The leak doesn't say anything about a secondary display on the LG V20, similar to the one found on its predecessor. However, it would make sense for LG to keep such an interesting feature, considering that it made the LG V10 very attractive on the market.
These are the first specs to leak on the LG V20, considering that the FCC listing didn't shed any light on its specifications, and even the device's name was unclear prior to LG's announcement from yesterday. Seeing how the device could launch next month, more information on the V20 is bound to surface soon.
