Towards the end of May, LG trademarked the X5 moniker, thus revealing that it was working on a new and exciting smartphone. Then, last month, it announced the new X series of low-tier devices with some mid-range elements. Today, the company has introduced two new models in the series, namely the LG X5 and X Skin.

LG launched the X series last month and revealed some models that also came with the X-Men theme, as each of the smartphones promoted one character from the "X-Men: Apocalypse" movie. The X series already contains models like the X Power, X Mach, X Style, and X Max, with each handset focusing on one special feature. For instance, the X Power comes with a larger battery compared to the others.

Two new models have been added to the X line today, and one of them is the X5. The smartphone comes with a 5.5-inch HD display, the same as the X Screen. It has a 1.3GHz quad-core processor and provides 2GB of RAM, along with 16GB of internal memory and the option to expand capacity to 32GB with a microSD card.

LG X5 has dual-SIM support and a 2,800mAh battery

The smartphone supports two SIM cards and measures 151.6×76.9×7.2mm. LG X5 weighs 133g and packs a 2,800mAh battery. LG X Power has the largest battery in the series, reaching 4,100mAh.

LG X5 sports a rear camera of 13MP as well as a 5MP front unit and runs Android Marshmallow 6.0 out of the box.

The second smartphone that LG has launched today is the X Skin, which has a smaller display of 5 inches and 720p resolution. It comes with 1.5GB of RAM and provides 16GB of internal memory, expandable to 32GB using a microSD card.

Processor capacity is the same as on the LG X5, but this model has a smaller battery of 2,100mAh. Rear camera capacity reaches 8MP while a 5MP unit can be found on the front. Both smartphones support 4G LTE connectivity and come in black and white colors, priced at $173 in Korea. LG X Skin in gold and titanium colors sells for $200.
