LG has just unveiled a new smartphone, dubbed LG U. The device, which seems to resemble the LG Nexus 5X in some respects, will be made available in Korea in just a few days and it’s unclear if it will arrive to other markets as well.

The LG U comes with a 5.2-inch display with 1080p resolution, just like the Nexus 5X. The smartphone appears to have 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory, along with a front panel design that’s very similar to last year’s phone released by Google.

Internal memory on the LG U phone is expandable to up to 2TB using a microSD card. The smartphone runs an octa-core 1.14GHz processor and comes with a 13MP rear camera and 8MP sensor in the front for snapping pictures and conducting video calls.

LG U runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box

The device measures 147.6 × 73.2 × 7.7mm and weighs in at 135g. It draws power from a 3,000mAh battery and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The smartphone is released in multiple color options, including white, black and pink.

For the sake of comparison, the Nexus 5X came with either 16GB or 32GB of internal storage and just 2GB of RAM. It ran a 64-bit 2GHz hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, coupled with Adreno 418 graphics processing unit.

Rear camera capacity was 12.3MP with IR laser-assisted autofocus, LED flash and 4K recording. It also came with a fingerprint sensor and USB Type-C ports.

LG has announced that the LG U will be made available at the end of the month in South Korea for the price of about $345. The phone will arrive exclusively at LG U+, which is the third largest mobile carrier in the country. It’s unknown at this point if the phone will be announced in other markets as well.
