A new S-shaped 111-inch display has been unveiled by LG in Germany during IFA 2015. This unique screen allows users to watch different sides of the television simultaneously.

Made from three distinct 65-inch 4K UHD OLED displays, the TV has been shown side by side with a 55-inch version which is only 5.3 mm thick. Although impressive in their size and what technology they can bare, the two screens are actually proof of concept designs, in order to show what LG can do when it comes to OLEDs.

However, keeping in mind how fresh and expensive such designs are at the moment one can wonder how popular such TVs would turn out to be in the end. Besides all that, these screens would definitely require a pretty big room and some headphones, or an adjacent sound system, since they are so slim that they don't have any integrated speakers.

LG is leading the TV design innovation

Additionally, LG presented its groundbreaking OLED wallpaper 55-inch display, that was revealed earlier this year, with a thickness of less than 1 millimeter. One of the most interesting features of this device is that it can be easily attached and removed from wall, thanks to its magnetic backing, hence the name "wallpaper."

LG believes that OLED display is the future of flexible displays since it does not feature backlight, and are far easier to manufacture. These displays are foldable, flexible and transparent, even wearable, no wonder it's widely considered the next-generation display.

It's interesting how LG will be developing the OLED technology in the future, since it has so many applications, from simple displays to artistic and even fashion use. Dr. Ching W. Tang, the one who's widely considered the father of OLED displays, believes that there are limitless applications to the new technology, and LG wanted to back up this claim in developing new and more imaginative designs.
