LG has officially announced that its G6 flagship smartphone will arrive in Europe on April 24, at 33 telecom carriers, including Vodafone, Orange, T-Mobile and Telefonica, according to a report. A number of 24 countries in Europe will receive the smartphone, including the UK, Sweden, Finland, France, and Germany.

UK customers who already pre-ordered the smartphone will start receiving their units today, weeks after the flagship phone was made available in the US, on April 7. The official global rollout of the G6 was supposed to start about two weeks ago, but the device only arrived in the US, Canada, and Australia.

Now it will make its way to the old continent and arrive in the pockets of customers from various European countries. The G6 carries a price tag of between $600-$700 depending on the market, and the many carriers that will sell the device will surely offer a variety of installments and plan options.

LG G6 will compete against Samsung’s Galaxy S8

The G6’s main competitor is Samsung’s Galaxy S8 at the moment, a flagship that has been well received on the market and that set new pre-order records in the company’s home country. The pre-order figure for the S8 already surpassed that of last year’s Galaxy S7 flagship and it’s rushing to become another top-selling Samsung smartphone.

The G6 is similar to the Galaxy S8 in some areas, especially when it comes to the device’s display. LG’s FullVision 5.7-inch display features an aspect ratio of 18:9, compared to Samsung’s Infinity Display with 18:5:9 aspect ratio that shows more content and even convinced Google to advise developers to optimize their applications for the two devices.

LG had a small window of about one month before the Galaxy S8 was launched to attract customers and convince them to snatch its newest device. Apparently, the company didn’t see Europe as a priority market, since it releases its G6 flagship about the same time as pre-ordered Galaxy S8 units are preparing to ship.
