In a recent blog post on its official website, LG provided some details about the display on its latest flagship, the G6. Thus, we find out that the smartphone will feature a 5.7-inch Full Vision display with 2,880 x 1,440 pixel resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio.

The display on the upcoming G6 covers the front of the phone entirely, and LG says that the handset’s dimensions were designed in such a way that they would ensure maximum comfort and compatibility with digital content. The G6’s new UX enhances the benefits of the Full Vision display and provides users with a “differentiated experience for viewing content such as video clips and web surfing.”

Moreover, LG has brought improvements to the camera UX so it could maximize the extra space provided by the 18:9 aspect ratio. The GUI was designed in such a way that it would allow users to open two square windows side by side and provide multitasking features. The tool is similar to the same feature found in Android 7.0 Nougat.

Full Vision display for a new viewing experience

LG goes on to say that the large screen on the G6 comes with an expanded top and bottom, thus displaying more online content and offering a more immersive experience when playing games. The smartphone will come with a feature that would allow users to view existing 16:9 ratio content in 18:9 format.

The improved camera UX allows users to take and review pictures simultaneously, while a new tool lets them divide the screen into two identical squares with the Square Camera feature. LG UX 6.0 allows users to snap images in 1:1 format and review them in the other window. GIFs can be created by combining up to 100 pictures and there’s a new shooting mode called Food Mode with high color quality and adjusted saturation levels.

The G6 also allows users to connect and view multiple square photographs as a collage on the lock screen or work in more than two apps at the same time, with the screen split in two. The larger 18:9 aspect ratio Full Vision display allows endless combinations, LG says.
