There has been a lot of talk about Google’s upcoming Nexus devices which will be produced in partnership with Huawei and LG this year.

Google surprised everyone this year at its I/O 2015 conference when it remained mum about any new Nexus hardware, but that doesn’t mean we won’t see any new Nexuses launch until the end of the year. On the contrary, Google is probably going to roll out two new phones alongside Android M sometime this autumn.

Anyway, some info about the LG Nexus 5 (2015) has been leaked online, so we know that the phone won’t be based on the company’s current flagship device, the G4. Rumors also indicate that the phone might come with a 3D dual camera and a fingerprint scanner.

Well, this week brings us the first visual cue related to the upcoming phone. @OnLeaks has posted a drawing made by a third-party case maker which depicts the back of the unannounced Nexus device.

However, one should keep in mind that the drawing was made by the case manufacturer based on very early information, so a lot of things might change until the official launch, which is several months away from us.

Fingerprint scanners are coming to the new Nexus family

In the leaked sketch, you can see that the case manufacturer has placed two circular holes on the back, which might accommodate the aforementioned dual camera. On the other hand, one hole might be for the camera, while the other might house the fingerprint scanner. There’s also an almost-rectangular hole donning the back, so perhaps the camera’s flash lives there.

Information about the LG Nexus 5 (2015) is pretty scarce at the moment. Apparently, Google wasn’t really sure that LG should be building one of its Android smartphones this year, even if the Korean company helped the search giant with the original Nexus 5 back in 2013.

However, it seems that Google eventually decided that LG was indeed best suited to build the Nexus 5 (2015). This year, the tech behemoth is also partnering up with Huawei for a larger Nexus model.

The phone is expected to arrive with a 5.7-inch QHD display with 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution and a Snapdragon 810 under the hood. It’s also anticipated that the device will boast a premium, metal body.
