Rumors about Google launching Android 6.0 Marshmallow and the next Nexus smartphones this fall have been abounding online and we even heard that the devices were scheduled for a September 29 release.

Well, a recent report came to confirm this information, as apparently Google has scheduled a press event for said date, where we can expect to see the Huawei Nexus and the LG-made Nexus 5 (2015) make a grand debut into the world.

A lot of things have been said about the Nexus 5 (2015), but even so, we’re not exactly sure what its specs are going to be, as we’ve been getting conflicting reports on the matter. Anyway, today we get another interesting tidbit regarding the upcoming LG-made Nexus.

When Google announced the Nexus 6, customers were quite disappointed to see that the phone was priced pretty high ($649 / €584) compared to the previous Nexus 5.

The Nexus 5 (2015) is going to be quite affordable

However, it seems that this year, Google is going to return to offering affordable handsets with powerful specs. According to a report coming out of Android Authority, the Nexus 5 (2015) will make it into retail shelves with a price tag of $399 / €359 a pop.

The source also claims that the LG-made Nexus will be released as the Nexus 5X and the base model will feature 16GB of internal storage. The 32GB version should cost users $449 / €404. We’re also told that the phone will come in three color variations including black, white and light blue.

According to the latest batch of information, the Nexus 5X is going to make an appearance with a 5.2-inch display with full HD resolution (1080p), although we’ve been hearing reports that the device will don a QHD screen instead. As for processing power, the Snapdragon 808 will be keeping the 5X up and running, that and 3GB of RAM.

Still, the Android Authority article claims that both Nexus models will feature 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution displays and will come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow pre-installed. The device will be made available starting September 29 via the Google Play Store. Third-party retailers will get it soon afterwards.
