It will feature a highly reflective metallic material

It's hard to make any assumptions regarding the next year's flagship smartphones, as most handset makers want to surprise their fans. LG has a few surprises of its own that might or might not be unofficially revealed to the world by the time the G6 makes it to the market.

The G6 is one of the flagships that are unlikely to be unveiled in Q1 2017, but LG's smartphone is expected to hit the shelves sometime in spring.

This means that the South Korean company still has enough time to change its mind regarding the overall design and hardware configuration of the G6.

Since we'll be reporting on the LG G6 quite a lot in the coming months, it's important to understand that each rumor that emerges might be accurate at a certain time.

However, since many changes can occur during a smartphone's development cycle, there's no telling which of these rumors will remain accurate by the time the device goes official.

For example, the LG G6 was initially rumored to pack a removable battery. However, a new report now claims LG has decided to adopt the same unibody form factor, so the phone will eventually come with a non-removable battery.

On the other hand, the same report, citing an unnamed source, suggests the LG G6 will feature a highly reflective metallic material, so the South Korean company is still on the fence to use glass for its flagship smartphones.

Last but not least, LG has decided that keeping the 3.5mm audio jack is a great idea, so the G6 will pack one at launch. Obviously, the phone will still include a USB Type-C port, separate from the 3.5mm jack port.

Previous reports also point to an MST mobile payment service that will be announced alongside the LG G6. An all-in-one iris scanner might be included in the G6 too, as well as waterproof design.
