LG has been teasing the upcoming G6 for quite some time now and has released a series of informative posts about the new phone. The device is expected to come with either IP67 or IP68 certification.

A report by Korean media outlet ETNews quotes an anonymous source saying that the LG G6 is currently under network-testing at an official carrier. The battery inside the phone is said to reach 3,200mAh, which is 400mAh more compared to its predecessor.

The report also mentions that the battery should last for 12 hours on “standard Internet” speed, but it’s worth mentioning that battery life might vary depending on usage and other factors.

Non-removable battery in favor of waterproof features

LG has recently teased that the upcoming G6 will have waterproof features, and the latest report seems to confirm that. An LG official said that the company went with a non-removable battery in order to make the phone dust-and-water proof. The official didn’t say if the phone would receive IP67 or IP68 certification.

The report also mentions the LG G6 Smart Doctor app, which would be used for diagnosing potential problems with the device and suggesting possible solutions to users. The app would serve to monitor the battery’s temperature and other processes, as well as offer users solutions to various issues. In addition, the phone will come with a copper heat pipe built-in which would dissipate heat and lower the phone’s temperature by 6 to 10%.

The G6 is expected to be announced on February 26 and it might come with an all-metal body and a 5.7-inch Full Vision display with 2,880 x 1440 pixel resolution. It’s said to run Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 chipset, feature a dual-camera setup on the back and a fingerprint sensor. It might also have Google Assistant and quad DAC for improved audio experience.
