14 DAY TRIAL // LG took the stage yesterday to announce a new premium smartphone that’s quite different to its predecessor and packs lots of advanced features. Pre-orders for the phone will start on March 2 and the device should hit stores on March 10.
All major carriers in the US will offer the LG G6 to their customers. The device should sell at all Big Four carriers, Verizon, Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile. Verizon and T-Mobile have already confirmed that the LG premium phone will be made available this spring.
Verizon has revealed that the G6 will be made available in platinum and black color options, but Sprint and AT&T haven't said which variants will be sold on their networks. The phone will hit stores in Korea on March 10, but a full month could pass until it would be made available in the US.
UK carrier Three will also sell the G6
One of the biggest carriers in the UK, Three, also announced that the phone would arrive in its stores, but didn’t reveal when that would actually happen. Pre-orders for the phone will also start at EE, Vodafone and Carphone Warehouse, but the exact date has yet to be announced.
The G6 is quite different to its predecessor, which was announced last year. The phone has ditched the modular design and now comes with a non-removable 3,300mAh battery and protection against water and dust. It has a stunning 5.7-inch Full Vision display, which supports two wide color standards: Dolby Vision and HDR 10.
The phone comes with Gorilla Glass 5 coating and runs Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box, as well as Google Assistant. LG has made improvements to the LG UI and designed the display with a new 18:9 aspect ratio. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 SoC and 4GB of RAM power the device, while there will be two variants in terms of internal storage, 32GB or 64GB, expandable to 256GB. A dual-camera setup is featured on the back, with lots of features like laser autofocus and HDR.
