LG announced the G6 earlier this year, but there have been many reports claiming that the company might release variants of the smartphone at some point. A new report claims that LG is preparing to announce the G6 Plus and G6 Pro.

The report suggests that the two phones won’t be upgrades to the previous model, which means that they won’t run Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 platform and will most likely be equipped with the Snapdragon 821 SoC, just like the G6.

The G6 Plus will apparently come with 128GB of internal storage and wireless charging, which the standard G6 doesn’t have. The G6 Pro will have just 32GB of storage, half of the internal memory found on the LG G6.

Prices for the two new models will start at about $700

The main difference between the two LG G6 variants will be in terms of pricing, the G6 Plus will have a price tag of $890, while the G6 Pro will be sold for about $700. The standard model in the series, the G6, is currently sold for about $800 in Korea.

LG has somewhat confirmed the report from Korea. LG’s Ken Hong, Senior Global Director of Communications, stated for Android Authority that “We can’t confirm or deny what we haven’t announced yet but what I can say is that we are definitely interested in expanding our product offerings to include more options for customers who are asking for different features.”

LG doesn’t specifically say that the G6 Pro or G6 Plus will be released, but the company does not rule out the possibility either, suggesting that new models could arrive.

Aside from the G6 Plus and G6 Pro, LG is also working on a new phone in its V series. An early design of the V30 was recently revealed, showing a slide-out secondary display that could replace the keyboard and enhance the user experience. The phone is also expected to come with a dual-camera setup on the back and carries the codename Project Joan.
