14 DAY TRIAL // LG has been teasing the upcoming G6 smartphone and gradually revealing some features that will be found on the new phone. But the latest report shows live images of the front and back of the phone, revealing a very interesting piece of information.
The G6 appears to come with a dual-camera setup on the back, a fingerprint sensor below it and no home button in the front. The image reveals a new LG feature, similar to Samsung’s Always On Display tool found on some Galaxy S smartphones.
The Always On Display feature shows the time, date and battery capacity. The feature’s actual name is unknown at this point, it will surely carry a different name compared to Samsung’s tool. The top and bottom bezels appear to be smaller, with the LG logo placed at the bottom and the G6 moniker on the back panel.
5.7-inch display and 4GB of RAM
The back of the phone seems to have a polished and shiny look, while the phone’s corners are slightly curved, giving it a sleek design. The report by 9to6Google confirms some specs for the upcoming phone, including the 5.7-inch Full Vision display with 18:9 aspect ratio and 1440 x 2880 pixel resolution.
The processor inside is a Snapdragon 821 SoC. LG will offer a smartphone with SD835 inside this year, and some reports say that the V30 could actually be the company’s flagship and not the G6. This wouldn’t be surprising considering that the V30 is rumored to come with 6GB of RAM, compared to the 4GB inside the G6.
Moreover, the upcoming G6 could have 32GB of internal storage, a 3,200mAh battery, quad DAC and IP67 or IP68 protection against water. The smartphone will run Android 7.0 Nougat and there are rumors of Google Assistant on board. The phone will be announced on February 26 and it might be made available for purchase in March.
