In exactly 20 days, LG will announce a new flagship smartphone under the name of G6. There are many interesting and exciting new features expected on the new phone, aside from a change in design.

LG is said to have ditched the modular design for its upcoming G6 flagship, after the G5 and "Friends" accessories recorded very low sales that impacted the company’s financial results in several quarters last year.

To mark the change in design for the G6, LG will name the screen on the G6 "Full Vision," as ZDNet reports. In the teaser for the G6 announcement, LG did say that the upcoming phone will have a big screen and smaller body and its design elements seem to translate into a "Full Vision" display.

Full Vision bezel-less display with 18:9 aspect ratio

"Full Vision" display means that the screen on the G6 will be bezel-less, reducing the ratio between the display size and body. The trend started a few years ago and smartphone makers are releasing products with increasingly wider displays, almost removing side bezels altogether.

Since we’re on the subject of display, the G6 is expected to feature a 5.7-inch Quad HD+ screen with an aspect ratio of (18:9) 2:1 and display resolution of 2,880 x 1,440 pixels, worthy of a flagship dare we say. LG did recently say that the G6 might feature a 1mm thick display, which means that the phone will be quite thin, perhaps thinner than the G5’s 7.7mm.

Thinness and clear bezel-less displays are important elements for a flagship phone, but LG is betting on much more with the G6. The new flagship is said to integrate Google Assistant AI and run Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. It will also have waterproof capabilities, perhaps IP67 or IP68 certification, aside from a brushed metal rear and dual-camera setup in the back.
