Rumors about another LG G5 variant emerged online not long ago, but the South Korean company did not confirm these allegations until recently.

The new LG G5 SE is a downgraded version of the standard G5, which was announced back in February at Mobile World Congress. However, unlike the LG G5, this slightly lower model won’t be available in all countries.

Russia is the first country that will get the LG G5 SE, though details about its price are scarce for the time being. It will definitely cost less than LG G5, but we will find out the outright price when it goes on sale.

Specs-wise, LG G5 SE comes equipped with a different octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor, clocked at 1.8GHz, which is complemented by 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 2TB via microSD card slot.

Similar semi-modular design, less powerful chipset

The good news is LG G5 SE boasts a hyper-vibrant 5.3-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution. There’s also a dual-camera setup on the back, which consists of a 16-megapixel and a secondary 8-megapixel sensor. On the front, there’s another 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.

Just like the standard LG G5, the downgraded model ships with Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system and LG UX 5.0 on top of it.

Also, it comes with a similar 2,800 mAh battery inside, which should provide up to 380 hours of standby time or up to 20 hours of talk time.

LG G5 SE features the same semi-modular design, which means the users will be able to replace or add some new modules to the phone.

For the time being, it’s unclear when exactly it will go on sale and which country will get it after Russia, so stay tuned for more on this one.
