LG is looking to introduce another variant of its flagship

LG unveiled the G4 flagship a few months ago, but the phone is not seeing much enthusiasm from customers who are busy being glamoured by the Samsung Galaxy S6 or iPhone 6.

In an effort to draw more attention to its product, LG has also released a watered-down version of the G4, called the G4c, and the LG G4 Stylus, which is a middle-range phablet bundled with a stylus on board.

Well, it seems like LG is looking to introduce even more variants of its ill-fated flagship. One of them leaked a while ago, as the LG G4 S, and we were told that the model was headed for Verizon.

Now the folks at Russian publication hi-tech.mail.ru have managed to get hold of some images showcasing the upcoming LG G4 S. We’re also given a glimpse of what sort of specifications we can hope to see the new phone bundle.

LG G4 S will bundle decent specs and a wallet-friendly price tag

Visually, the LG G4 S seems to be quite akin to the LG G4 flagship, so if you’ve mulled over the looks of the phone so far, but didn’t have enough cash to spend on it, the good news is that you can consider the former model, which will probably go on sale with a more affordable price tag.

Apparently, the phone arrives with a 5.2-inch display that uses in-cell technology and bundles 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. The phone is powered by an unnamed octa-core 1.5GHz CPU (it could be a MediaTek MT6591 chipset) and dons an 8MP camera on the box.

We’re not given access to the full spec list, but what we know so far reveals that we’re dealing with a middle to high-range product here. We should expect to see the LG G4 S arrive on the market in the second half of the month. The report goes on to mention that LG is planning to market this device quite affordably.

By contrast, the fully fledged LG G4 comes with a 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display with QHD (2560 x 1440 pixel resolution), 538 ppi (pixel per inch), and Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

The phone comes equipped with a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor fitted with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory (expandable up to 128GB via microSD card slot).
