In a few days, LG will be hosting a press event during which we expect to see the atypical LG V10 handset with two displays arrive into the wild. But there is another LG handset that has been rumored for a while and that is the LG G4 Pro.

Some time ago, it was speculated that the LG G4 Pro would be a pretty monstrous device coming in with a Snapdragon 820 processor under the hood. However, recent developments seem to indicate that this will not be the case, after all.

According to 9to5Google, the LG G4 Pro has just showed up in the GFXBench database as model number H900. And if we are to believe the listing is genuine, the LG G4 Pro seems like a nifty upgrade from the LG G4 flagship, which was unveiled this summer.

Apparently, the device will make a debut into the wild with a 5.7-inch QHD display (2560 x 1440 pixel resolution) and 4GB of RAM, which is 1GB extra compared to the LG G4. Now, moving on to SoC nestled underneath the hood, to our surprise, we find the same hexa-core Snapdragon 808 chip powering the LG G4.

LG says nay to the Snapdragon 810 once again

The Korean company probably wanted to avoid all the problems that come with the overheating Snapdragon 810, so it decided to stick with the “safe” option. The Snapdragon 820 is not in the cards, so that makes us think the phone will be announced by the end of the year.

Rumor has is that Snapdragon 820-powered devices should make it out in the early days of 2016, although the Xiaomi Mi5 has been tipped to be unveiled this December. The first units will, however, start shipping out to consumers at a later date.

Other specifications related to the new phone include a 15MP camera capable of shooting video in 4K, while the selfie-shooter is reserved to a 5MP unit. The declared available storage is 51GB, which means that the LG G4 Pro will probably be announced with 64GB of internal storage.

The listing also suggests the phone will make it out into the world with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box, and given that Android 6.0 Marshmallow is due out today, it suggest the phone should arrive soon. October 1 soon.
