LG will soon be unleashing the phone to the masses

LG is struggling really hard to keep its smartphone business from going under, and as we told you not so long ago, the Korean tech giant slashed the prices of its high-end smartphones in the country in order to better compete with the likes of Apple and Samsung.

On top of that, the company is also prepping new models which are due for release soon. One of them is a mid-range phablet dubbed the LG-H740, which leaked in benchmarks a few days ago. Yesterday, it became clear that the handset is called LG Class, after the device maker posted a teaser of the phone inviting us to tune in on September 21 to see it up front.

Now a few pictures showing the LG Class in the wild have been leaked online via the Korean media, so we can take a look at it and see what to expect in a few days. It appears that the smartphone will indeed be made of metal, so even if it doesn’t come equipped with the most stellar specs, at least it looks good.

Apparently, LG is testing the waters with this new design approach, so that the company can see how consumers react to it.

Purported specs of the LG Class

While yesterday we told you that the LG Class would feature a 5.7-inch form factor, a new product image that appeared not long ago indicates the device will come with a 5-inch display instead. The picture in question calls the phone the LG Glass, but in the upper right corner we can spot the LG Class mention.

According to previous information we had at our disposal, the LG Class will take advantage of a Samsung Galaxy Note5-like display (form factor-wise) with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution, plus a Snapdragon 615 processor under the hood working in concert with 2GB of RAM and only 8GB of internal storage. We hope that LG will throw into the mix a microSD card slot, because shortage of internal memory will really put some users off.

So what do you think about the LG Class? Would you be willing to purchase this blocky smartphone?
