The LG V10 is an unusual smartphone that's been recently spotted at TENAA, the Chinese regulatory commission. While most the phone's specs have already been leaked, no info on pricing and availability has emerged yet.

Today, the South Korean company announced a new launch event scheduled for October 1, AndroidPolice reports. Even though LG does not specify what this event is all about, the handset maker is expected to unveil the previously leaked V10 smartphone.

The date chosen by LG is rather curious, since Microsoft recently announced a similar press event on October 6, where the company is expected to launch its new Windows 10-powered flagship smartphones, the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL.

Anyway, since there are no additional details about LG's event scheduled for early next month, let's take a look at what we know about the V10 so far.

Hexa-core CPU and 16MP rear camera

First of all, the LG V10 sports a 5.7-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution. In addition, the smartphone is said to pack a secondary auxiliary display positioned above the large screen.

Hardware-wise, LG's high-end smartphone is equipped with a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

Also, on the back side, the smartphone packs a 16-megapixel camera with laser autofocus, dual LED flash and 4K video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 5-megapixel selfie camera.

The usual fingerprint scanner has been placed under the power button positioned on the back of the phone, right under the rear camera.

Although this doesn't sound like the premium flagship smartphone LG plans to launch this year, at least it's something that fans of the brand should take into consideration when it comes out.
