This spring, China’s LeTV video streaming giant introduced its first smartphone products, among which we could find the huge LeTV Max which was offered with a 6.33-inch display.

The company seems to be already working on a successor for the device, which the rumor mill is dubbing the LeTV Max 2. But interestingly enough, the phone won’t continue to make use of the same, ginormous form factor as its predecessor.

According to a fresh report coming from Tech Grapple (via Weibo), the LeTV Max 2 will make a debut into the wild with a 5.7-inch display with an unknown resolution (although it’s probably going to be 2K). The Chinese device maker will be utilizing the services of the Snapdragon 820 chipset in combination with 4GB of RAM.

The original LeTV Max arrived in a wild with a QHD display, Snapdragon 810 and 4GB of RAM. Given the controversy revolving around the Snapdragon 810, LeTV fans are probably relieved to hear that the next Max phablet will be taking advantage of Qualcomm’s next-gen chip architecture.

The phone will make it out in Q1 2016

The Snapdragon 820 is a quad-core chipset based on 14nm FinFET architecture that can reach clock speeds of 2.2GHz. It also embeds cool technologies like Quick Charge 3.0 which, in theory, should allow users to recharge their devices from 0% to 80% in 35 minutes.

Furthermore, the report goes on to reveal that the Max 2 will be benefiting from the same 21MP camera the original Max also took advantage of. As for the selfie shooter, it is expected to feature a 5MP or 8MP sensor.

The Max 2 is not the only phone LeTV is readying for release in the first quarter of 2016. Actually, the company is also cooking up a mid-range offering called the LeTV 1s.

The handset is poised to make its debut into the wild with a 5.5-inch FHD display (1920 x 1080 pixel resolution), a MediaTek Helio X10 SoC, 3GB of RAM and a 13MP/5MP camera combo. Quite similar to other middle-range products offered by companies like Xiaomi.

LeTV is certainly a smartphone maker to watch out for. So, any thoughts on the upcoming Max 2?
