14 DAY TRIAL // Lenovo has been quite successful in the low- and mid-range smartphone market with phone models that incorporated powerful specs, while also keeping the price at an affordable level. One of such models was the Lenovo Vibe K5. Now, it seems that the company has quietly released a new model on the market, the Lenovo Vibe C. It was spotted on a third-party retail site from Croatia, eKupi.
The Lenovo Vibe C comes with a 5-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and a quad-core processor, but the chipset hasn’t been specified. It features 1GB of RAM and 8GB of inbuilt storage, which is definitely on the low side. Still, the internal storage could vary based on the markets in which Lenovo intends to release this new smartphone.
The Vibe C also comes with a microSD card slot for adding up to 32GB of additional storage. It runs Android Lollipop 5.1.1 out of the box and supports a single micro-SIM. It comes with a 2,300mAh battery and low-end cameras (5MP with LED flash in the rear and 2MP in the front).
The smartphone supports 4G LTE, as well as 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Micro-USB connectivity options. Measurements reach 143.5x71.8x8.9mm and it’s only available in the Black color.
Lenovo Vibe C is an upgrade from the A2010
Last year, Lenovo launched the A2010, which at the time was one of the most affordable 4G smartphones in many markets. It had a 4.5-inch display, with a quad-core MediaTek SoC clocked at 1GHz and it came with Android Lollipop 5.1. Camera specifications were the same as for the Vibe C, but the A2010 came with a less powerful battery of just 2000mAh.
A month ago, Lenovo unveiled its latest flagship smartphone the ZUK Z2 Pro with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, a 5.2-inch super AMOLED screen and a thickness of just 7.5mm.
The new Lenovo Vibe C smartphone sports a really subtle and sleek design and it’s available for around $105 (€93). Shipments are set to begin starting with May 18.
