Lenovo might have a partnership with Razer on gaming gear, but this doesn’t necessarily mean that the world’s number one PC maker can’t launch its own gaming PCs coming with high-end hardware and features.

Today, Lenovo did just that and introduced Legion, a completely new gaming-oriented series of laptops that excel in terms of hardware to provide the best possible experience to gamers.

The company unveiled two different Legion laptops at CES, both of which are projected to go on sale later this year, with prices starting at $899.99.

“Just as the Roman army shared a common purpose that bound them together as a force to be reckoned with, Lenovo Legion is all about our growing community of gamers and their passion for gaming,” Lenovo said when explaining the name of the new brand.

Two Legion laptops already announced

First and foremost, it’s the Y520, the entry-level configuration that will go on sale next month and will come with an Intel i7 Kaby Lake processor, up to 16GB DDR4 RAM, 512GB SSD or 2TB HDD storage.

Additionally, the 15.6-inch laptop which features an IPS LCD display also comes with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti GPU that promises uncompromised gaming experience.

Pricing will start at $899, but you’ll obviously have to pay more, as you improve the hardware configuration.

And if you do want to get better configuration, you can very well go for the Y720, which is the most powerful Legion laptop from Lenovo at this point. It comes with up to Intel Core i7-7700 HQ processor, GeForce GTX 1060, 6GB GDDR5, 4K screen support, and the same storage options as the more affordable sibling.

The Y720 will hit the shelves in April and the most affordable configuration will cost $1,399.

There are also other very neat touches for the two laptops, including keyboard backlighting, as well as built-in Dolby Atmos sound support, which should provide 3D surround during gaming. The Y720 also comes with an integrated Xbox One wireless receiver, so you can connect your controller in a second.

Lenovo is clearly planning to further expand the brand in the coming years with more models, so expect the company to focus more on the gaming community with Legion laptops.
