Just as expected, ZUK has released its newest smartphone, the ZUK Z2, today. It was previously believed that the ZUK Z2 would come with the powerful Exynos 8890 processor, but the company has changed its mind and integrated a Snapdragon 820 chipset into the ZUK Z2.

The smartphone also features a 5.0-inch display, slightly smaller compared to the ZUK Z2 Pro's. It comes with 1080p resolution, and the screen is covered in 2.5D Curved glass.

The smartphone is slightly thicker, 8.5mm vs. 7.5mm, but has an impressive battery of 3,500mAh. It supports Quick Charge 3.0 over the USB Type-C port, and it should charge 80% of the battery in just one hour.

ZUK has implemented Samsung’s ISOCELL technology in the rear camera, which comes with 13MP and 1.34µm pixels. The camera also has f/2.0 aperture and 78.9-degree-wide viewing angle.

It supports phase detection and electronic image stabilization. The front camera reaches 8MP and has 1.34µm pixels. The handset has the capacity to capture 4K videos, aside from 960fps slow-motion videos.

ZUK Z2 has U-Touch 2.0 fingerprint reader

In the core, ZUK Z2 packs a Snapdragon 820 chipset and has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It seems that ZUK Z2 doesn’t have a microSD card, so users must limit their data to only 64GB. It boasts a U-Touch 2.0 fingerprint reader that can recognize even a wet finger in just 0.1 seconds.

Still, the ZUK Z2 runs Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 out of the box, with the company’s ZUI 2.0 on top. The device supports Dual-SIM with LTE connectivity and works with China Unicom and China Telecom networks.

ZUK Z2 will launch on June 7, but pre-orders start today on ZUK’s official website. The smartphone will be available in two colors, white and black, for the price of $275 (€245) in China. ZUK has also launched the USB Type-C wireless charger for the phone, which will be priced at $45 (about €41).
