WCDMA support will be included among specs too

Lenovo might be mostly known for its smartphones, but the company's IdeaTab series of tablets is very popular among Android users as well.

We can safely assume that the Chinese company will have at least a few Android tablets to show later this month at Mobile World Congress 2016.

When it comes to smartphones, Lenovo recently surprised with a teaser for the global version of Lemon 3, but other than that we're still waiting to see whether the handset maker has any major announcements set for MWC 2016.

Until then, let's take a look at what Lenovo has in the pipeline for the tablet market. The folks over at TechGrapple recently spotted an affordable Lenovo slate at TENAA, the Chinese regulatory commission.

The tablet is listed with model number TB3-701I, but it will probably be released under Lenovo's IdeaTab brand. The tablet is expected to arrive in two color versions: Black and Blue, as well as Black and Yellow.

Android 5.1 Lollipop and quad-core CPU

Spec-wise, it looks like a standard budget-friendly tablet, but it will include GSM and WCDMA support, which means owners will be able to use to make and take calls.

Lenovo TB3-701I is powered by Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system and sports a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 1024 x 600 pixels resolution.

On the inside, the slate packs a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage, which can be expanded up to 64GB via microSD card slot.

There's also a 5-megapixel camera on the back, which features autofocus and video recording, but lacks LED flash. A modest 2-megapixel camera is located on the front side. Sadly, there's no mention of battery at TENAA.

Although there's no word on price and availability, we suspect Lenovo will introduce the 7-inch tablet at MWC 2016, in about a week from now.
