The update has been confirmed in Greece for the moment

Great news for Android fans who purchased the Lenovo S60 earlier this year, as the Chinese company has just kicked off the rollout of a major software update.

Lenovo S60 is a mid-range handset that was released on the market back in March, but instead of putting Lollipop on it, the Chinese company decided to launch the smartphone with Android 4.4 KitKat operating system onboard.

As mentioned earlier, it looks like Lenovo has just started to push Android 5.0 Lollipop update to S60 devices, a new report confirms.

For the time being, the update is only available in one European country, Greece, but we expect Lenovo to continue to roll out Android 5.0 Lollipop for the S60 globally in the next couple of weeks.

Even though it took Lenovo more than four months to rectify its error, it's good that all S60 owners will soon be able to enjoy the new features and improvements included in Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Make sure you have enough storage on your S60

Lenovo S60 owners in Greece should now check their smartphones for the update since the rollout is happening OTA (over the air) in waves. This means that if it's not yet available on your S60, you should wait a little bit until you get notified.

It's also worth mentioning that the update is no less than 1.32GB in size, so make sure you have enough storage before attempting to download and install Android 5.0 Lollipop on your Lenovo S60.

Also, make sure that your phone's battery is at least 50% charged and that you are connected to a Wi-Fi network before starting to download the update.

Even though the update should not wipe your personal data from the smartphone, it's recommended to make a backup of it just in case something bad happens.
