14 DAY TRIAL // Specifications of Lenovo’s upcoming Miix 320, a direct successor to the Miix 310, got leaked today, ahead of the public unveiling that’s expected to take place at the Mobile World Congress in a few weeks.
The Miix 320 is essentially a 2-in-1 device that can be both a tablet and a laptop, so it’s tackling the device category invented by Microsoft itself in 2012 with the Surface. But as compared to the Surface, the Miix 320 is supposed to be super-affordable, all without a major impact on performance.
The leaked details (via WinFuture) reveal that the updated tablet will come with a 10.1-inch IPS LCD display and will be powered by an Intel Atom x5-Z8350 processor. Depending on the version, the new Lenovo 2-in-1 will be offered with either 2GB or 4GB RAM, while storage options will start at 64GB and go up to 128GB on the top-of-the-line configuration. A microSD card slot will be offered for additional storage.
Detachable keyboard, powered by Windows 10
Just like the majority of 2-in-1 devices, the Lenovo Miix 320 will also come with cameras front and back, so we’ll get a 5-megapixel and a 2-megapixel camera, respectively. The typical connectivity options will be available, including Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi, microHDMI, USB 2.0, audio jack, and USB Type-C.
Lenovo will also offer a 4G LTE version for those who want to remain connected to the Internet on the go, and this will most likely be available exclusively on the top configuration.
Other than that, the Lenovo Miix 320 will come with a detachable keyboard, so you’ll be able to use it as both a tablet and a laptop, similar to Microsoft’s own Surface. The keyboard itself will feature two USB 2.0 ports for more connectivity options.
As far as pricing is concerned, the device will be available starting from $229, but you’ll have to add a few extra bucks to get the more powerful models. Full details will be unveiled at the MWC in late February, with sales likely to being this spring.
