Lenovo has just announced a new series of Windows 10 laptops which are all labeled as Signature Edition, which means that they come without any pre-installed apps.
Another highlight on these laptops is that they come with Precision Touchpad support, a worthy upgrade that Microsoft is reportedly making mandatory for devices that are certified for Windows 10.
Lenovo’s ThinkPad trackpads have been used for years, but the company is now planning on offering a more refined experience, which in Microsoft’s opinion can only be achieved with Precision touchpads - this is one of the reasons the firm has also implemented several improvements in this regard in the operating system, and the Creators Update due in the spring will continue this enhancement spree.
Windows Hello support
The full technical specifications of the new ThinkPad laptops, which are available in the box after the jump, also include Intel Kaby Lake processors, as Lenovo wants its next-generation devices to provide the best possible experience on Windows 10 devices.
And it goes without saying that Lenovo can’t stay away from features specifically developed for Windows 10, including Windows Hello, so select laptops will include cameras that will support this biometric authentication method integrated into the operating system. Fingerprint readers will also be offered, just like on previous ThinkPad models.
USB Type-C will obviously be supported for faster data transfers and charging, and Lenovo will offer configurations with up to 1 TB storage space.
All the updated ThinkPad models will be on display at CES next year and will go on sale in March. The ThinkPad 13, which is specifically developed to be more affordable, coming with a price of $674, will hit the shelves in January and will be offered with up to 512 GB storage, 32 GB RAM, and 13.3-inch display.
