Lenovo is looking to bring to the market as many affordable and mid-range Android smartphones as possible, so it’s no wonder that we’ve just learned the Chinese company has another device in the pipeline.

The handset has been recently spotted at TENAA, the Chinese regulatory commission, with model number Lenovo K52e78. Naturally, it will be launched on the market under a different moniker, which we don’t know at the moment.

However, thanks to the listing at TENAA, we know quite a few things about the phone’s specs. For starters, Lenovo K52e78 sports a large 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution.

There’s no mention of Corning Gorilla Glass coating, but since this is a mid-range smartphone, it’s no wonder that it doesn’t employ the services of protection glass.

Powerful octa-core CPU, 2GB RAM

The good news is Lenovo’s phone will come equipped with a more than decent 1.8GHz octa-core processor, possibly provided by MediaTek. The name of the chipset is not specified at TENAA, but there’s little chance that this is a Qualcomm SoC.

Anyway, the octa-core processor is paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, which can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

Another strong point of the Lenovo K52e78 is the 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash, and video recording, as well as the secondary 8-megapixel camera on the front for selfies and video calls.

We also know Lenovo’s upcoming smartphone will include a fingerprint sensor on the back side, right below the camera and the LED flash.

Connectivity-wise, the unannounced handset will come with 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB 2.0, FM Radio and GPS with AGPS support. There’s no word on battery size yet, but we do know that Lenovo K52e78 measures 152 x 75.7 x 8.49mm and weighs 165g.
