Lenovo launched the tablet/smartphone hybrid Phab Plus in late August, but it did not make the device available for purchase yet.

The phablet was also showcased early this month at the IFA 2015 trade fair, which is an indication that the Chinese company plans to launch the Phab Plus very soon.

Today, Lenovo has announced that the Phab Plus is available for pre-order for only $280 (€247) outright. For the time being, the phablet can only be pre-ordered in Malaysia, but we expect more countries to get it by the end of the month.

The Phab Plus has been confirmed to go on sale in Malaysia on September 28, but those who pre-order the device until then will receive RM 600 ($140/€123) worth of freebies in the form of discount vouchers, e-Magazines subscription and music track downloads.

Pre-orders should start in other countries soon

These freebies are limited to the first 100 customers who pre-order the Lenovo Phab Plus between September 14 and 27. In order to do that, you will have to deposit RM 100 ($23/€20) with Lenovo, while the rest of the money can be paid between September 28 and October 25.

The Phab Plus is a pretty strange device that is neither tablet nor smartphone. It comes with a huge 6.8-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution.

It is powered by a 64-bit 1.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, coupled with an Adreno 405 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.

Lenovo Phab Plus comes with 32GB of storage inside, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD card. It offers both dual-SIM and 4G LTE support.

Last but not least, the huge phone is powered by a 3,500 mAh battery and packs a 13-megapixel camera on the back with autofocus, dual LED (dual tone) flash and video recording, as well as a secondary 5-megapixel camera in front for video calls and selfies.
