Lenovo is one of the companies that attended this year’s MWC with several new devices, and two of them are the Yoga 520 and the Yoga 720, which Microsoft describes as “mobile powerhouses.”

Both are convertible 2-in-1 PCs that can be used as either a tablet or laptop, and because they run Windows 10, they can quickly switch from one mode to another, getting features that are specifically optimized for different types of input.

Lenovo says it put the focus on quality performance, so the two devices come with Intel’s 7th generation i7 processors, while the 15-inch Yoga 720 features an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 discrete graphics card.

The Yoga 720 sports a 13-inch screen fitted into a 12-inch form factor, which means there are super-small bezels, the phone boasts 4K resolution support and integrates JBL speakers with Dolby Audio Premium. There’s also a fingerprint reader with support for Windows Hello (standard on 720 and optional on the 520), as well as a Thunderbolt 3 connector on the bigger model for quick data transfers.

“75 percent of users surveyed find bio-authentication as an appealing next-gen laptop feature.10 When it comes to bio-authentication technology, using fingerprints ranked as the most useful and easy to use,” Lenovo says.

Optional stylus

The two devices are available with an optional stylus taking advantage of Windows Ink, and integrate a battery that can provide up to 10 hours of autonomy per charge.

Yoga 720 will go on sale in the EMEA in April at €999 for the 13-inch version and €1099 for the 15-inch sibling, and will be available in several colors, including Platinum Silver, Iron Grey, and Copper, with the last one exclusively available for the 13-inch model.

The Yoga 520, on the other hand, will be available with a 14-inch screen starting at €599 in Mineral Grey and Onyx Black. Sales will begin in July 2017.

The two new models will run the full version of Windows 10 and both will come with the Creators Update, which Microsoft is expected to unveil in April this year.
