14 DAY TRIAL // Lenovo is one of the companies that embraced the 2-in-1 concept invented by Microsoft in 2012 with the Surface RT, but at the same time, it’s also one of the biggest names that create devices super similar in look and features to Redmond’s model.
Today, Lenovo took the wraps off the Miix 720, its reinvented Microsoft Surface killer that can play the role of a tablet or a laptop using the built-in kickstand and the detachable keyboard.
As you can easily figure out by simply browsing the photo gallery at the end of the article, the Lenovo Miix 720 is a Surface clone by all means, but it still comes with hardware that’s really worth a look at.
First and foremost, the device features a 12-inch QHD+ display with a resolution of 2880x1920 pixels. The top configuration comes with an Intel Core i7 processor, up to 16GB RAM, and 1TB SSD storage space. The device can run either Windows 10 Home or Pro, and also comes with Intel HD integrated graphics 620.
Super light, also coming with pen
The device obviously comes with the typical connectivity options, such as wireless, Bluetooth 4.1, USB 3.1, USB 3.0, USB 2.0, microSD, and audio jack.
The battery can last up to 8 hours, according to Lenovo’s own specifications, but expect slightly lower autonomy when you run very demanding apps.
At 780 grams, the Miix 720 is quite light, and when attaching a keyboard, the device weighs just 1.1 kilograms. The tablet also includes backlighting support and comes with the standard package, so you don’t have to purchase it separately.
Additionally, the tablet is also offered with a so-called Lenovo Active Pen 2, which is pretty much Lenovo’s own version of the Surface Pen, but this is sold separately and comes with a price of $59.99.
The tablet will go on sale in April 2017 and will be available in two different colors, namely Champagne Gold and Iron Gray, with pricing to begin at $999.
