14 DAY TRIAL // Chinese handset maker Lenovo is among the most recent companies to announce a press conference for Mobile World Congress 2017. The event is set to take place in Barcelona, Spain, on February 26, the same day that Huawei and LG are expected to unveil new products as well.
Although Lenovo did not disclose too many details about the launch event scheduled for next month, the invitation sent to the media clearly confirms there will be at least one new smartphone showcased at the trade fair.
Also, judging by the design of the phone shown on the invitation, there's a high chance that Lenovo will announce the Moto G5 Plus, which leaked online earlier this month.
Aside from the mid-range Moto G5 Plus, we expect Lenovo to introduce another Moto flagship smartphone for the first half of the year. It remains to be seen whether the Chinese company will choose to announce it at MWC or at a dedicated event later on.
The Moto G5 Plus could be unveiled in late February
For those of you who missed our report about the unannounced Motorola Moto G5 Plus, here is a quick rundown of the main features. Keep in mind that this is leaked information, so it might not be 100% accurate.
First of all, the alleged Moto G5 Plus leaked earlier this week is supposed to feature a larger 5.5-inch display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution. It might come with Corning Gorilla Glass coating as well, but this hasn't been confirmed yet.
On the back, the smartphone is said to feature a decent 13-megapixel photo snapper with LED flash, while in the front there should be a secondary 5-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.
At the heart of the Moto G5 Plus, there's a powerful enough octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor, coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory (expandable via microSD).
Last but not least, Motorola's mid-range smartphone will ship with the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system right out of the box, and it will include fingerprint scanner and 3,080mAh battery.
