The Lenovo-backed startup company ZUK will be launching its first flagship smartphone in the upcoming months, but a few weeks ago, the device got detailed quite extensively.

Still, not all features of the phone were revealed, so this week we come back to the company’s upcoming Z1 smartphone. During a media briefing in China, ZUK’s CEO showed participants a collection of slides depicting the phone’s set of features (as seen at Quint Fab).

So it appears that the Z1 will come bundled with a USB Type-C port, just like the OnePlus 2, which is also expected to make a debut into the wild soon enough.

The end of the year will certainly mark the advent of many smartphones coming with USB Type-C technology. Google has announced that Android M offers support for the new USB system, and Microsoft might also end up unveiling Lumia flagships with Windows 10 that take advantage of the new setup.

USB Type C and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop for the ZUK Z1

Going back to the ZUK Z1, it seems that, although initial rumors claimed that the smartphone would ship out with Cyanogen OS, the device will make it out with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box after all.

Furthermore, the phone is said to come equipped with a so called U-Touch fingerprint scanner/gesture control system, which will go on to live below the display, not on the back of the phone, under the camera.

We’re also told that ZUK Z1 users will be able to unlock the smartphone thanks to the system and also swipe between screens and menus using this U-Touch system.

ZUK has also revealed that the Z1 will be powered by a huge 4,000 mAh battery and will come bundled with support for GSM, 3G and LTE bands on China Unicom, China Mobile and China Telecom carriers.

The Chinese device maker has also announced that smartphone will take advantage of a 13MP rear-facing camera with resolution of 4,160 x 3,120 pixels.

We’re still in the dark about which sort of display and processor we’re going to find on board the ZUK Z1, but these details are probably going to become available soon enough.
